In a short period of time, Dominique McLean, otherwise known as SonicFox, has established themselves as one of the most decorated players in the fighting game scene. A five-time Evolution Championship Series champion, SonicFox has won in Injustice: Gods Among Us (2014), Mortal Kombat X (2015 and 2016), and Dragon Ball FighterZ (2018) and Mortal Kombat 11 (2019). In 2018, they were recognized as Esports Player of the Year at The Game Awards. Gaming aside, SonicFox, who identifies as queer, non-binary and a furry, has also been a strong advocate of the LGBTQIA+ community — once earning praise from SB Nation for continuing to “lead by example.”
