Each year, more than 800 iconic brands are pitted against each other to see who comes out on top as Australia’s favourite, with household names like Kmart, Woolworths and Bunnings all gunning for the title.

Power Retail recognises Australia’s Top 100 Online Retailers and announces category winners. The Top 100, which is a part of its rolling Top 500 Online Retailer Rankings, comprises a mix of retailers, with the winners representing the best-of-breed leaders of the e-commerce industry.

This year, Kmart snagged the number one title from two-time award winner Bunnings Warehouse, which came in fourth.

Once again it was Woolworths going head to head for the number one title, coming in second place, followed by Chemist Warehouse, which jumped up from ninth place last year.

Other notable moves included BIG W, moving from number 12 to number six, along with The Good Guys, which moved up the ladder from number 19 to number 13.

“This year, Kmart consistently ranked highest across categories of site performance, accessibility, payment and delivery options, traffic, and mobile app excellence, making them the most successful retailer in 2022,” Power Retail head of data David Fear said.

“They have demonstrated a true dedication to mastering the mobile user experience and providing consumers with the most streamlined process of browsing and purchasing. We look forward to seeing their growth and innovation in the year to come.”
