Kirk Douglas’s Gorgeous Palm Springs Estate Is Now on the Market

Situated on a .75-acre parcel, 515 W. Via Lola features a canopy of palm trees and brilliant red bougainvillea overlooking the sun-soaked mountains of Palm Springs, Calif. Designed by Donald Wexler in 1954, the mid-century modern home was formerly owned by actor Kirk Douglas, who lived there for over 42 years. The tennis retreat, which is adjacent to the estate of fellow actor Leonardo DiCaprio, is equipped with five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Outside, the residence features a subtle K-shaped swimming pool, a tennis court, and a tennis pavilion decorated with vintage Kirk Douglas movie posters, a kitchenette, and a bathroom.

Inside, the kitchen showcases a breakfast bar, dishwasher, icemaker, six-burner gas stove, double ovens, and warming drawers. The adjacent dining room contains built-in bookshelves, a wet bar, and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the backyard pool. Dual master suites funnel to outdoor patios, while the remaining bedrooms have floor-to-ceiling windows that offer beautiful views. The home is currently on the market for $3.45 million.
