Kenny Stills met with Dolphins owner and 'agreed to disagree' over Donald Trump support

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Kenny Stills met with team owner Stephen Ross, but the two couldn’t find common ground. Stills had previously been critical of Ross’ support of President Donald Trump.

The two met Tuesday, but it doesn’t sound like the conversation led to a productive result, according to ESPN. Stills said he and Ross “agreed to disagree” on the issue. Stills then put the focus on football, saying there’s “no hard feelings” between him and Ross before adding, “let’s win some games this year.”

The 27-year-old Stills called out Ross’ support of Trump, saying Ross could not host fundraisers for Trump while also being part of a non-profit that works to “eliminate racial discrimination.”

Those comments got Stills in hot water with coach Brian Flores, who said he understood what Stills was saying, but wished Stills had handled the issue privately. Stills says he received death threats after making those comments. Ross responded to those comments by saying he’s known Trump for 40 years, and doesn’t support all of Trump’s policies.

After spending his first two seasons with the New Orleans Saints, Stills joined the Dolphins in 2015. He’s one of the few Dolphins players who continues to kneel during the national anthem to protest racial inequality in the United States.
