A year after 12-hour brain tumor surgery, Kelly Stafford announces she's expecting fourth child

After what must have been a difficult year for Matthew and Kelly Stafford, the couple announced the best of news on Sunday.

The couple is expecting their fourth child this summer, with Kelly posting the announcement from Disneyland.

We will apparently have to wait until the baby’s delivery before we know if the Staffords are receiving a fourth straight daughter. Kelly Stafford also wrote on her Instagram story that the child will be their last.

“Yes, we are done after this,” she said. “Stafford party of 6 will stay a party of 6.”

Kelly Stafford underwent brain surgery last April

All of this is a welcome development after Kelly underwent major brain surgery last April to remove a slow-growing tumor called an acoustic neuroma. The surgery, which experienced at least one complication with an abnormal vein, was difficult enough.

Stafford’s rehab was another ordeal. She said the surgery’s after-effects caused her to lose the entire balance system on her right side and nearly caused her to lose her hearing. She effectively had to re-learn how to move again.

In an essay published by ESPN in October, Stafford said doctors told her it would take about a year for her to feel symptom-free.

Stafford has thankfully since recovered to the point that she posted a video of her skydiving with her husband earlier this month. Now, she has another child on the way.
