John Wiley shares slip after mixed quarterly results
Shares of academic publishing firm John Wiley (NYSE:JW.A) fell more than 6 percent Tuesday after the company reported earnings that missed expectations.
John Wiley posted fiscal fourth quarter adjusted earnings per share of 67 cents, while analysts polled by FactSet forecast earnings of 70 cents. The company's revenue of $434.3 million did beat analyst expectations of $428.1 million.
The publisher's journal revenues for the quarter, however, fell to $168.5 million from $175.6 million last year.
John Wiley's stock is nearly 8 percent higher this year despite Tuesday's fall.
