Two of the NBA’s most iconic franchises and their historic successes on the hardwood are reimagined into Converse classic sneakers. Teaming up with Chinatown Market and Jeff Hamilton, the Converse Pro Leather and Chuck 70 draw inspiration from champion jackets created by Hamilton and worn by some of the league’s best players over the last 30 years.

The first shoe pays homage to the he 2002 Los Angeles Lakers' memorable NBA Finals three-peat. The Pro Leather, a basketball classic made famous in 1976 thanks Julius “Dr. J” Erving features a simple, yet structured leather upper and a screen-printed skyline graphic which wraps around the heel’s mix of Prism Violet. The construction also details a “3-In-A-Row” graphic embroidered by the ankle and layered patches similarly to the jackets released following their accomplishment. A separate Lakers-inspired Chuck 70 also boasts a skyline graphic around the leather upper’s exterior and has a series of the franchise’s championship years across the construction with transparent Chuck patches.

Chicago is the second city to get the Pro Leather treatment. The Bulls' 1991 and 1996 championship 3-peats are celebrated with a leather upper that shares a bold mix of Garnet, Black and Hyper Royal coloring. Bearing similarity to the Los Angeles design, you can spot the Chicago city skyline graphic that beautifully wraps around the heel with a custom woven patch as an overlay. The Chuck 70 that complements this iteration also has custom stitched woven patches found beneath transparent Chuck Patch overlays on each medial side. A love for the windy City is also on display thanks to the skyline graphic matching the Pro Leather.

Available at Converse and the Greenhouse App, the Pro Leather sneakers retail for $150 a pair and the Chuck 70 trainers retail for $120 a pair. We linked all four designs below.
