Jayson Tatum banks in 3-point game-winner to open Celtics season

In a year of high expectations, Jayson Tatum got started with a superstar moment in the Boston Celtics season opener.

Down two points with less than 10 seconds left, Tatum got the ball and faced down Milwaukee Bucks superstar (and reigning Defensive Player of the Year) Giannis Antetokounmpo. After some fancy dribbling, Tatum went for the stepback 3-pointer.

Fortunately, he did not have to call bank.

Tatum finished with a total of 30 points in the game on 12-of-28 shooting (6-of-13 from deep) with seven rebounds and two assists.

Even with only 0.4 seconds remaining, the Bucks still managed to get a free throw away from a tie. An inbound play led to Giannis Antetokounmpo nearly getting a game-tying tip-in, but new Celtics acquisition Tristan Thompson managed to knock the ball away. However, Thompson was hit with a questionable foul call to send Antetkounmpo to the line.

The reigning MVP made his first free throw ... then missed his second. Four-tenths of a second later the game was over and the Celtics had a 122-121 win.
