Insider Buying: The The GPT Group (ASX:GPT) Independent Non-Executive Director Just Bought AU$50k Worth Of Shares

Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the The GPT Group (ASX:GPT) Independent Non-Executive Director, Anne Brennan, recently bought AU$50k worth of stock, for AU$4.17 per share. Nevertheless, it only increased their shareholding by a minuscule percentage, and it wasn't a massive purchase by absolute value, either.

GPT Group Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by CEO, MD & Director Robert Johnston for AU$500k worth of shares, at about AU$5.30 per share. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at above the current price of AU$4.22. Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. We always take careful note of the price insiders pay when purchasing shares. It is generally more encouraging if they paid above the current price, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels.
