Inside Jeff Bezos’ epic $114 million New York penthouse
It’s been a big year for Amazon’s Jeff Bezos: a divorce, an extortion attempt and now, a $114 million property deal.
The chief executive of Amazon is reportedly buying three apartments, including the penthouse, in a Manhattan building, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The two units and penthouse are on 212 Fifth Avenue, near Madison Square Park.

Bezos bought the two apartments for $40.69 million in May. The purchase of the penthouse indicates Bezos could combine the three properties together, the president of real estate appraisal firm Miller Samuel, Jonathon Miller told CNN Business.
"In Manhattan the premium is on larger contiguous space," Miller said.
"One plus one equals two and half. By combining the three, there is additional value created."
The penthouse sprawls over 10,000 square feet and three floors, plus another 5,700 in outdoor terraces.
“A historic masterpiece of its time, the Crown Penthouse at 212 Fifth Avenue is in a class of its own and the most magnificent trophy residence on Madison Square Park,” sellers’s agent Brad Ingalls said.
Continuing, he described the 5-bedroom space as possessing the “majestic proportions of a palace”.
“With four exposures providing 56 of frontage along the Park and vistas of downtown Manhattans most coveted architecture, the pre-war details inside are equally matched with the iconic views revealed by its elegant arched windows.”
The penthouse features a marble foyer and private elevator, then there’s the grand ballroom and library.
