Atlassian founder Mike Cannon-Brookes made headlines when he purchased Australia’s most expensive property for $100 million back in 2018, but now the billionaire is looking to greener pastures, snapping up a home in Newport, Sydney.
The beachfront home previously belonged to Aussie supermodel Jennifer Hawkins and her property developer husband, Jake Wall, but the pair sold it to Cannon-Brookes and his wife Annie for a cool $24.5 million.
The price is a record for the northern beaches, beating out a Palm Beach mansion which sold for $24 million six months earlier to Caledonia Investment’s Mike Messara.
The Prince Alfred Parade home sits on a sprawling 3,360-square metres, and boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a whole lot of beach views.
There’s a four car garage, guest parking, a lift and even a temperature-controlled 600-bottle wine cellar.
It’s a little smaller than Cannon-Brookes’ 1.12-hectare estate in Point Piper, which he purchased two years ago from Sir Warwick Fairfax.
