Innocent reason behind Woolworths worker's 'crude note' on chicken

A Woolworths customer has snapped a picture of what appears to be a crude note written on boxes of fried chicken wings.

A Reddit user shared a photo of the Chinese BBQ chicken wings with what appears to be the word “s***” printed across four boxes on the shelf.

“It took me a minute to realise why someone would be writing ‘s***’ all over the Woolworths chicken,” the user captioned the picture.

The photo was flooded with comments and a few users realised why the boxes appeared to have a swear word written on them.

“For those wondering, 7:45 is written on the boxes,” one user wrote.

The 7:45 appears to be the time the chicken was cooked, but whoever wrote it on the boxes presumably didn’t realise it was going to appear upside down when the hot chooks were put on the shelf for sale.

The 7:45 looks like the word “s***” upside down.

However, some people were sceptical as to whether it was intended to appear like a swear word.

“This is 100 per cent done on purpose,” one user wrote.

“I feel they wrote 7:45 once and noticed/had a laugh that it looked similar, and it’s now their in-joke/silent protest.”

Another added: “Holy 7:45 that’s cool”.

Woolworths has been contacted for comment.
