India thrash Kiwis to complete ODI sweep

Rohit Sharma and opener Shubman Gill have each scored centuries as India defeated New Zealand by 90 runs in the final one-day international, completing a 3-0 series sweep.

Young gun Gill made 112 in 78 balls, six days after scoring a double ton in the first game. Captain Rohit hit 101 in 85, as the duo powered India to 9-385 after being put in to bat in Indore on Tuesday.

Their opening partnership was worth 212 in 26 overs

Hardik Pandya later made 54 off 38 balls while Blair Tickner and Lockie Fergsuon were the best of the tourists' bowlers with 3-76 and 0-53 off ten overs apiece.

In response, New Zealand opener Devon Conway made 138 off 100 balls but the rest of his teammates produced an underwhelming batting performance as the visitors were bowled out for 295 with eight overs remaining.

Henry Nicholls, with 42, was the next-highest scorer.

Shardul Thakur (3-45), Kuldeep Yadav (3-62) and Yuzvendra Chahal (2-43) were the key bowlers though it was Umran Malik (1-52) who dismissed Conway.

India won the second ODI in Raipur by eight wickets, and the first in Hyderabad by 12 runs.

The teams will next compete in a three-match Twenty20 series, starting on Friday in Ranchi.
