How a Disney World ticket booker saved woman from horrific attack

A quick-thinking Walt Disney World employee may have saved the life of a random caller who dialled the company’s number in a desperate plea for help.

The woman on the line was heard by the employee telling someone to “get off me” and “get away from me”, prompting her suspicion the caller was not actually calling to book a holiday at the Orlando, Florida, resort, Wesh2 reported.

While taking the call on January 9, the concerned employee began asking “yes or no” questions and was able to ascertain that the woman was in a critical situation requiring police assistance.

When the employee asked if the woman wanted to make a booking, she answered “no”, and when asked if law enforcement was needed, she responded “yes”.

She also responded “yes” when she was asked if someone was hurting her.

A short time later, police arrived at the home where the woman and her boyfriend, a 38-year-old man named Wayne Shifflett, were arguing.

The woman told police Mr Shifflett choked her and she was in fear of her life, according to the publication.

The man was arrested and charged with strangulation, terroristic threats with intent to terrorise another, and simple assault.
