Yahoo Finance Rockets trade Victor Oladipo to Heat for Avery Bradley, Kelly Olynyk
Victor Oladipo is headed to South Beach.
The Houston Rockets traded Oladipo to the Miami Heat on Thursday afternoon right up against the trade deadline, according to multiple reports.
In exchange, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Heat sent Houston Avery Bradley and Kelly Olynyk and a 2022 pick swap.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Miami sent Houston Avery Bradley and Kelly Olynyk in exchange for Oladipo. The two teams also agreed to a pick swap in next year's draft.
Bradley has averaged 8.5 points for Miami this season, though he’s appeared in just 10 games and is currently dealing with a calf injury. The 30-year-old was on a one-year, $5.6 million deal with the Heat.
Olynyk averaged 10 points and 6.1 rebounds per game for the Heat this season, his fourth with the organization. The 29-year-old is set to become a free agent after the season.
Oladipo reportedly has long-term interest in Heat
The Rockets acquired Oladipo on Jan. 16 from Indiana in the four-team trade that sent James Harden to Brooklyn. Oladipo turned down a reported, two-year, $45.2 million extension from the Rockets, all but signaling his departure before hitting free agency this offseason.
Since Oladipo’s arrival in Houston, the Rockets are 8-24, and just snapped a 20-game losing streak on Monday.
Oladipo averaged 21.1 points, 4.9 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game for the Rockets. The 28-year-old is two years removed from a ruptured quad tendon that sidelined him for a little over a year.
Oladipo can become a free agent after the season, when his initial four-year, $85 million deal he signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder expires. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Oladipo has had interest in joining the Heat long-term for a while now, too.
Assuming the rest of the year goes well and Oladipo can successfully bolster the Heat's postseason run alongside Jimmy Butler, Miami is in a great position to sign Oladipo to a deal that keeps him with the team next season and beyond.
The Heat also reportedly reached a deal with the Sacramento Kings on Thursday. Miami agreed to send Moe Harkless and Chris Silva to the Kings in exchange for forward Nemanja Bjelica.
