Yahoo Finance Hilarious mom shares ’emotional stages’ of going out with her friends: ‘I love when people cancel’
A woman shared the emotional rollercoaster mothers go on every time they make plans to hang out with their friends.
The TikTok account @catandnatofficial has over 1.2 million followers. One of the two mothers who run the page shared what it’s really like making plans as a parent: nothing short of mentally taxing.

“There are so many emotional stages that a mother goes through before she goes out with her friends, and it goes like this,” she said.
The mom had three weeks to mentally prepare for her friend’s birthday night out, yet it was still a struggle. She was excited to finally get a break every minute up until the actual day of the plan. Then, the overwhelming reality began to sink in: She had so much to do before she could actually clock out.
Doing chores made her feel tired and made her bed look more appealing. Next, the mom wondered if she should cancel and say her kid was sick. Even after she committed to going, she still had the burden of picking an outfit. The process alone left her bedroom in disarray.

But once her friend was coming over in an Uber, she was fully dressed and locked in.
“Buckle up, buttercup. The big girl’s going out, no turning back,” she declared as she left.
The hilarious video racked up 1.4 million views on TikTok.
“I love when people cancel on me before I cancel on them. It brings me joy,” a user said.
“Glad you went!! You need your girl time. SELF-CARE!” another wrote.
“The GUILT of a mother will eat you alive. Stay-at-home mom here who complains about needing a break, and once it happens, I’m LOST and missing my babies,” someone commented.
