HBO releases 'Hard Knocks: Los Angeles' trailer featuring Rams and Chargers (video)

It’s the middle of summer, and NFL fans know what that means: “Hard Knocks” trailer time.

HBO has released a trailer for the latest iteration of the NFL Films docuseries, which for the first time features two teams at once: the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers.

Two teams is a new wrinkle for the series. This year HBO is focusing on two teams that recently relocated to Los Angeles, each trying to get back to the playoffs after disappointing 2019 campaigns. The Chargers and Rams will also be sharing the brand new SoFi Stadium in 2020.

Beyond featuring two teams, this will be an unprecedented season for “Hard Knocks.” The COVID-19 pandemic has changed nearly everything about training camp. There’s social distancing, mandatory temperature checks, constant disinfection, and more. Most notably, there will be no preseason games this year. With no team vs. team footage, the NFL picked the right year to profile two teams.

The new season of “Hard Knocks” is scheduled to premiere Aug. 11 on HBO.
