Aaron Rodgers to guest host 10 episodes of 'Jeopardy!' in April; Shailene Woodley confirms engagement

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is headed back to the “Jeopardy!” stage in April.

Rodgers, after revealing that he will step in as a guest host on the popular trivia game show last month, will get a 10-episode stint starting April 5, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Rodgers will follow Dr. Oz as the show’s guest host — something “Jeopardy!” has been doing since beloved longtime host Alex Trebek died in November. CNN's Anderson Cooper and Dr. Sanjay Gupta, NBC News' Savannah Guthrie, journalist Katie Couric, 60 Minutes correspondent Bill Whitaker, actress Mayim Bialik, "Jeopardy!" legend Ken Jennings and the show's executive producer Mike Richards will also get to host episodes in the coming months.

Rodgers revealed his hosting gig on “The Pat McAfee Show” last month.”

“One of my idols growing up was Alex Trebek. Being able to be on Jeopardy years ago … They’re doing some guest hosting spots and it’s going to be released here pretty soon, but I have the opportunity to be one of those.

“I’m excited about that opportunity.”

Aaron Rodgers won ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’ in 2015

Rodgers is actually a perfect fit for the show — considering he is a past champion himself.

Rodgers won $50,000 for charity while appearing on the celebrity edition of the show in 2015, beating out Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary and astronaut Mark Kelly. He’s also a massive fan of Trebek, and only had great things to say about him after his death in November.

“It’s safe to say I was starstruck,” Rodgers said in November of meeting Trebek on the show. “I was just telling one of our coaches today as we talked about it. It’s happened a few times in my life where I’ve been starstruck by somebody, and I understand maybe what that feels like to a lesser degree when somebody meets me, and that’s what I think gives me a good perspective with those interactions.

“I was so excited, trying to keep it together and act like it wasn’t the huge deal that it was to me on the inside.”

Shailene Woodley confirms engagement

Finally, the news has been confirmed directly at the source.

Actress Shailene Woodley, speaking on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday night, confirmed that she is in fact engaged to Rodgers.

"Yes, we are engaged," Woodley said. "But for us, it's not new news, you know? So it's kind of funny. Everybody right now is freaking out over it and we're like, 'Yeah, we've been engaged for a while.'"

Rodgers came out of nowhere during his MVP speech and dropped that he had gotten engaged, though didn’t say to who. Rumors then quickly swirled that the “Big Little Lies” actress was his fiancée.

Though she’s getting married to one of the best quarterbacks in the league, Woodley actually knows very little about the game.

"We met during this wacky, wacky time and all the stadiums were closed that he was playing in, so I have yet to go to a football game," she said. "Before I met him I’d never seen one football game before. I didn't really grow up with sports, especially American sports. It was never really on my radar.

“When we met, also, I knew he was a football guy, but I didn't know like what kind of a football guy he was. And I'm still constantly learning … I don't know him as a football guy. I know him as, like, the nerd who wants to host 'Jeopardy!' That's the dude I know."
