Some Aussies wanting to access their Gmail or Google Docs accounts this morning ran into some trouble as users around the world reported login issues.

According to Outage Report, 228 Americans and 31 Australians reported issues with Gmail over the last 24 hours.

Users in the UK, India, Mexico, Canada, Singapore, New Zealand and other countries also reported issues.

Google users attempting to log in saw an ‘error 502’ page that asked them to try again in 30 seconds, the Guardian reported.

According to Google, users were experiencing “OAuth login issues” that began 8:33am Thursday morning (AEST) and the issue was resolved by 9:43am.

But reports from the Daily Telegraph indicate that the outage persisted from 7am to just after 10am.

“We will conduct an internal investigation of this issue and make appropriate improvements to our systems to help prevent or minimise future recurrence,” Google said.
