Yahoo Finance Girlfriend reacts to boyfriend doing a joint Halloween costume with another woman: ‘Awkward’
A college student is wondering if she crossed the line by matching her Halloween costume with her best friend.
She asked Reddit’s “Am I the A******? (AITA)” forum for advice. She and her friend Josh have been friends since they were kids. A year ago, Josh started dating Lydia. Lydia doesn’t seem to like Josh and the Reddit poster’s friendship.
Lydia told Josh she planned a matching costume with a friend for a Halloween party. Josh decided to do the same with the Reddit poster. But after Lydia found out, she demanded the Reddit poster do a different costume.
The Reddit poster refused to change the costume because she had already bought it. Then Lydia’s friends sent her a deluge of mean text messages.
“The whole time Saturday she was sulking and one of her friends seemed to be consoling her the whole night,” the Reddit poster said. “It just felt awkward.”
Redditors sided with the poster on the issue.
“Her sulking and having people spam your phone was ridiculous,” a user said.
“Josh needs to look for a better girlfriend. That’s not the behavior of a 21 year old, that’s the behavior of a 12 year old,” another commented.
“She is jealous and the whole texting your number thing is way over the line,” someone wrote.
