United States youth international Gio Reyna’s first goal for Borussia Dortmund was as picturesque as debut goals come. Or most goals, for that matter.

Reyna alertly bended a right-footed shot around Werder Bremen goalkeeper Jiří Pavlenka late in Dortmund’s 3-2 loss to Werder Bremen on Tuesday in the DFB-Pokal.

Enough words. Watch this (via ESPN):

Pavlenka barely evened feigned an attempt to stop it. He and Bremen may be moving on in the competition, but he was rooted to the spot on this goal.

Reyna came off the bench to score, as did Erling Haaland, who’s taken Germany by storm since signing for Dortmund last month. But Werder Bremen had built a three-goal lead and Dortmund couldn’t find an equalizer.

Reyna, the 17-year-old son of United States legend Claudio Reyna, was promoted to Dortmund’s first team in mid-January just six months after joining the club’s academy. He’s the USA’s best prospect since Christian Pulisic, and has all the conditions to thrive at Dortmund.

Looks like he’s starting to take advantage.
