UK influencer Georgia Steel has potentially landed herself in hot water after posting extremely risqué bikini snaps on her Instagram from a recent trip to the Maldives.

The former Love Island star had already fallen foul of some of her 1.6 million followers, when she decided to travel to the tropical paradise, despite the UK being in national lockdown.

And now, the 22-year-old’s sizzling topless snaps fly in the face of the region’s strict modesty laws.

Islamic law encourages modesty of dress, meaning nude or topless sun baking is prohibited everywhere in the Maldives including on resort islands. In other words, nudity is illegal and punishable by jail.

“Influencers who think the Maldives is just a great backdrop for their Instagram should stop and think before one ends up in jail,” an anonymous resident told The Sun.

“The resorts could also be in serious trouble if guests like Georgia are found to be generating ‘pornographic images’ on the premises.”

Georgia, who appeared on Love Island in 2018, has been documenting her sun-soaked getaway with her best friend Joanna Chimonides. But the images sparked plenty of backlash in the comments.

“So we’re just not in a pandemic huh?” one person wrote.

“Must be amazing to have a life without rules, 1400 people died yesterday in England and you are out there showing ya ass off,” another wrote.

Georgia, who flew from Dubai to the Maldives, had previously told her followers the trip was for ‘work purposes’ and that it had been planned for a long time.

“I feel so lucky to be able to travel with my job at the moment,” she captioned one snap.
