Fulham welcome west London rivals Chelsea to Craven Cottage in the Premier League this afternoon.

Scott Parker’s side have shown an admirable resilience in recent weeks, overturning a terrible run of form to reignite their hopes of avoiding relegation. The Cottagers have now drawn their last five games in succession, taking a point from both Liverpool and Tottenham, and are only two points adrift of safety. They also boast two games in hand over 17th placed Brighton due to an outbreak of coronavirus at Motspur Park.

Frank Lampard, meanwhile, is seeking to end something of a downward spiral for his side, with the Blues taking just one point from their last three Premier League games. A dismal defeat by Arsenal on Boxing day was followed by a draw with Aston Villa and another defeat by Man City before a routine FA Cup win against Morecambe helped to somewhat alleviate the gloom. The plight of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz remains a huge dilemma for the head coach, although Hakim Ziyech and Reece James’s return from injury will provide a welcome boost.

History is firmly on Chelsea’s side, too, with the Blues unbeaten in their last 18 top flight games against their neighbours.
