Major chains Domino's and Pizza Hut have taken the fast food wars to another level, vowing to give away a total of 110,000 free pizzas this month.

Pizza Hut started this madness, announcing its Golden Giveaway earlier this week to celebrate 50 years operating in Australia.

"Over five days we will be giving away 50,000 free pizza coupons… 10,000 for each decade!" read its promotional material.

But just the next day, an unwelcome visitor crashed the birthday party.

Domino's upstaged its rival with its own "120K giveaway", starting one day earlier and handing out 10,000 more pizzas.

"Just when you thought there wasn’t a lot of good news being shared in 2020, we are pleased to announce our 120K pizza and charity giveaway consisting of 60,000 FREE pizzas for customers, and $60,000 donated to charity," read the company's Facebook page.
