Burgers are ditching their buns for tortillas in this latest recipe taking over TikTok!
Who doesn’t enjoy the occasional twist on a classic? Even better when it’s a twist on two classics. TikTok’s latest food trend does just that by combining burgers and tortillas to make an epic crunch wrap.
TikToker Dani’s (@foodkinq) recipe involves a burger patty on a tortilla over queso and topped with a tomato slice, jalapeños, more queso, a layer of Doritos, a scoop of guacamole, bits of shredded cheddar cheese, and a smaller tortilla to help contain the ingredients.
Once cooked until each side is golden brown, Dani cuts the burger wrap in half to reveal the juicy layers of meat, cheese, and vegetables tucked inside a crunchy tortilla.
For a recipe that’s a little more involved, TikToker and chef Zach Rocheleau’s (@thezachrocheleau) fajita crunch wrap burger is a great option. After thinly slicing an assortment of peppers and an onion, cook them in a pan on high heat and season with garlic powder and sea salt.
Next, take your ground beef and press it into patties. Then cook on each side, with one side including a drizzle of yellow mustard. After mashing up an avocado it’s time to put together the crunch wrap burger.
Spread the mashed avocado over a large tortilla, then add the fajita vegetables followed by a burger patty, shredded cheese, and another burger. Wrap the tortilla around the burger. Finally, cook the burger wraps in an air fryer for 5-6 minutes, then it’s time to enjoy.
TikTokers aren’t just using burgers as their main filling. This recipe from Rocheleau for a turkey crunch wrap involves turkey slices, sharp cheddar cheese, a tostada, avocado, Sriracha, pickles, roasted red peppers, and lettuce.
When it comes to creative variations on classic dishes, you can always count on TikTok!
