New Forecasts: Here's What Analysts Think The Future Holds For TScan Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:TCRX)

TScan Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:TCRX) shareholders will have a reason to smile today, with the analysts making substantial upgrades to this year's forecasts. The revenue forecast for this year has experienced a facelift, with analysts now much more optimistic on its sales pipeline.

After the upgrade, the four analysts covering TScan Therapeutics are now predicting revenues of US$15m in 2022. If met, this would reflect a major 23% improvement in sales compared to the last 12 months. Losses are expected to increase substantially, hitting US$2.92 per share. However, before this estimates update, the consensus had been expecting revenues of US$13m and US$3.08 per share in losses. We can see there's definitely been a change in sentiment in this update, with the analysts administering a sizeable upgrade to this year's revenue estimates, while at the same time reducing their loss estimates.

Another way we can view these estimates is in the context of the bigger picture, such as how the forecasts stack up against past performance, and whether forecasts are more or less bullish relative to other companies in the industry. It's pretty clear that there is an expectation that TScan Therapeutics' revenue growth will slow down substantially, with revenues to the end of 2022 expected to display 52% growth on an annualised basis. This is compared to a historical growth rate of 107% over the past year. Juxtapose this against the other companies in the industry with analyst coverage, which are forecast to grow their revenues (in aggregate) 15% per year. So it's pretty clear that, while TScan Therapeutics' revenue growth is expected to slow, it's still expected to grow faster than the industry itself.

The Bottom Line

The highlight for us was that the consensus reduced its estimated losses this year, perhaps suggesting TScan Therapeutics is moving incrementally towards profitability. Fortunately, analysts also upgraded their revenue estimates, and our data indicates sales are expected to perform better than the wider market. Seeing the dramatic upgrade to this year's forecasts, it might be time to take another look at TScan Therapeutics.
