Ford issues major F-150 recall, CBS CEO in talks to depart, Novartis selling part of generic drug business

Here’s a look at some of the companies the Yahoo Finance team will be watching for you today.

Ford is issuing a huge recall. Around 2 million F-150 trucks are affected. The automaker says seat belt parts in models built between 2014 and 2018 can spark and catch fire. So far no accidents or injuries have been reported.

There are reports today that CBS CEO Les Moonves is in talks to depart. This comes as the Wall Street Journal says the company and lead shareholder Shari Redstone are negotiating an end to their ongoing lawsuit. But the company is facing a new suit over Sacha Baron Cohen’s showtime series. Former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore says Cohen defamed him and wants $95 million.

Novartis is selling part of its generic drug business to Indian pharma company Aurobindo. The $900 million deal includes some 300 products and a few plants around the country. About 750 employees will be transferred to the new owner. It’s all part of a plan to focus on higher-growth areas.

No explanation yet for search issues at Amazon. Thousands of customers complained that they only got ads and no product listings when they searched for items. Meanwhile, Amazon is pushing further into delivery. The company just placed an order for 20,000 Mercedes Benz delivery vans.
