FMG dismisses report on iron ore delays

Fortescue Metals Group has dismissed report it is experiencing delays with iron ore shipments.

Resource information provider, Platts, yesterday reported the company had postponed the loading of iron ore cargoes.

FMG says the article is untrue and it recently exceeded the original export target rate set for the end of 2012.

The company says it is continuing to experience strong demand for its product.

Meanwhile, FMG has appointed a new Director of Operations.

David Woodall will take over the role on Monday, replacing Jamie Frankcombe.

FMG says Mr Woodall brings almost 30 years of industry experience to the position, working both within WA and overseas.
