The Gravity Weighted Faux Fur Rabbit Blanket contains glass beads, using gridded stitching to ensure the beads remain evenly distributed. (In other words, when you pick the blanket up, all of the beads won’t move to one side, like some other weighted blankets). On the exterior, one side is super plush faux fur, and the other is a smooth and snuggly velvet lining.
However, unlike Gravity’s other weighted blankets, the faux fur exterior is not a duvet cover, so you can’t machine wash it. This blanket has to be hand-washed in cold water or spot-cleaned.
Other Gravity Blankets come in multiple weights, but the faux fur option only comes in the 10-pound size. This makes it more of a heavy throw blanket than a standard weighted blanket. To find the right blanket weight for you, the brand usually recommends choosing one that’s about 10% of your body weight. If you’re in between two weights, they suggest going with the lighter one.
“The Gravity Blanket uses the power of ‘deep touch pressure stimulation’ to simulate the feeling of being held (like a hug!). This increases serotonin and melatonin, the hormones responsible for relaxation, and decreases cortisol, the hormone responsible for stress,” the Gravity Blanket website reads.
You can purchase the Gravity Faux Fur Blanket online for $120, and it ships free. It comes in white and gray (although the gray is currently sold out).
