The study surveyed 755 expats and foreign-born residents and asked them to rate 20 aspects of Australian life from one to 10 as compared to the same aspects in their birth country.

Here’s what they found.

Wages, despite general stagnant wage growth, also rated high up the list, followed by other work-related perks: the opportunity for work-life balance, career opportunities for migrants and expats, financial security and job security.

Our ‘revolving door’ of politicians was also noted, with politics as the third-last favoured attribute of Australia among migrants and expats.

“It comes as no surprise that foreign-born residents rated poorly our property prices, politics, cost of living and even our nightlife,” said WorldFirst head of foreign exchange Patrick Liddy.
