European stocks close higher
Europe's main stock markets closed higher Wednesday as investors went bargain hunting after steep declines earlier this week on global growth fears.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of top companies ended the day 2.58 percent higher at 6,061.61 points compared to Tuesday's close.
In the eurozone, Paris' CAC 40 index finished 2.57 percent ahead at 4,455.29 points and Frankfurt's DAX 30 won 2.22 percent to 9,660.44.
