England tonight meet old rivals Germany in a huge last-16 clash on home soil at Euro 2020.
The Three Lions won Group D to set up a knockout tie against the runners-up of Group F - the so-called ‘group of death’ featuring France, Portugal, Germany and Hungary.
In a frantic finale to Group F, Germany - who were minutes from crashing out - salvaged a 2-2 draw against Hungary to book themselves a knockout spot.
That result means England and Germany will face off at Wembley in a repeat of the Euro ‘96 semi-final, which the Germans won via a penalty shootout before going on to win the competition.
Gareth Southgate of all people will want to exorcise those demons given it was his missed penalty which cost England, while this could be Joachim Low’s final game as Germany boss as he prepares to step down after the tournament, to be replaced by former Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick.

The match will be held at Wembley Stadium in London, England, with an increased crowd of around 45,000 fans expected.

Southgate is set to make late checks on Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell, with the Chelsea duo rejoining the squad at midnight following their precautionary period of isolation.
The England boss will also have to decide whether or not to switch to a three-man defence in order to counter the significant threat posed by Germany’s effective wing-backs, and the indications are that indeed will be the case.
Bukayo Saka and Jack Grealish impressed after being handed starts against the Czechs, so Southgate will be under pressure to keep both in his lineup tonight, with Saka expected to start ahead of Phil Foden.
Given the game could likely be won in midfield, Southgate may also opt to play Jordan Henderson instead of Kalvin Phillips or Declan Rice.
Neither team has any suspended players.

It should be a tight game at Wembley, and England will be slight favourites given their defensive record - but mentality may prove the decisive factor, and Low’s squad has bags of it.

The most famous match between the nations was, of course, the 1966 World Cup Final, which England won 4-2 thanks to a Geoff Hurst hat-trick.
Since then, England suffered Euro ‘96 heartbreak as Germany beat them in a penalty shootout at Wembley - with Southgate missing the vital spot-kick - before going on to lift the trophy that summer.
England fans still vividly remember the 5-1 World Cup qualiying win in Munich in 2001, but the last time these two teams met at a tournament, Germany drubbed the Three Lions 4-1 in the round-of-16 at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
