After selling out twice, Drew Barrymore’s sage green air fryer is finally back in stock! This is good news if you’ve been looking for an air fryer that doesn’t look like a complete eyesore sitting out on your kitchen counter. Plus, it actually works.
Beautiful Kitchenware 6-Quart Touchscreen Air Fryer, $89
The air fryer is part of Drew Barrymore’s cookware line, Beautiful Kitchenware, and is available exclusively at Walmart. In addition to sage green, it also comes in white icing, oyster grey and black sesame, and all variations include a gold-accented handle. Talk about chic!
Nonetheless, more about its functions. With this 6-quart air fryer, you can roast, reheat, dehydrate and, of course, air fry your food by simply pressing one of its digital touch-activated buttons. It also preheats 50% faster than most traditional ovens and has a 60-minute automatic shut-off function for your safety.
It can hold up to 5 pounds of food to feed five to seven people. And when you’re done cooking, you can toss the removable crisping tray and bottom frying basket into the dishwasher.
Keep in mind that an air fryer is pretty much just a small convection oven. The only difference is that instead of baking, it air fries by rapidly circulating hot air around your food to give it an extra crispy texture.
I Tried It — I Love It
The brand recently sent me this air fryer to test out and let me just say — this thing is actually incredible.
I’m what you would consider an air-frying newbie. I don’t often deep fry food on the stove, so I didn’t see the real need for an air fryer. However, I do love chicken tenders, so on the first day I got this one, I tried it out with a raw chicken breast cut into strips. I wanted to see how the air fryer really cooked food, not just reheated the frozen stuff.
I coated my chicken tenders in a mixture of seasonings, sprayed them with a little coconut oil and placed them in the air fryer. I cooked them for 5 minutes, then flipped them over and continued air frying for another 5 to 6 minutes. The chicken came out incredibly tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, just as promised.
I later tried air frying chicken tenders coated in breadcrumbs, and those turned out amazing, too. Now, I’m searching for “air fryer recipes” and browsing air fryer cookbooks on Amazon — I want to use this appliance all of the time.
The Beautiful Kitchenware air fryer is pretty easy to use, and it doesn’t hurt that it looks as good as it works.
Drew Barrymore’s Beautiful Kitchenware line launched in March 2021 in collaboration with Made by Gather founder/CEO Shae Hong. In addition to the air fryer, the line includes a coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster, blender and more in a refreshing color palette with gold accents. You could really go all out by getting a few things to match your kitchen perfectly. But shop fast.
When the line launched, the sage green air fryer sold out in less than 24 hours. After a restock, it sold out again within six weeks. Furthermore, the white icing air fryer sold out in four weeks upon launching.
