Drea is looking for help finding a 1-bedroom apartment to call her own

On this episode of In The Know: Find My Dream Room, host Will Taylor (@brightbazaar) helps Drea move out of her mom’s house and find her own place in New York City. Drea is on the hunt for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment with plenty of natural light in Manhattan or the Bronx for up to $2,500 a month. Can Will help Drea find her perfect apartment? Let’s find out!

Apartment number one, which Will has dubbed “The Manhattan,” is a two-bedroom unit in Manhattan with a monthly rent of $2,500. Not only does the cozy apartment have an in-unit washer-dryer and dishwasher, but it even has a fireplace! While the apartment has more bedrooms than Drea requested, Will notes that one of the bedrooms can easily be converted into a living room. Drea is blown away by the apartment’s amenities, and particularly loves the natural light pouring in through the windows.

Next up, Will shows Drea “The Harlem,” a one-bedroom unit in Harlem that rents for $2,400 a month. While the apartment is slightly smaller than “The Manhattan,” it offers central air conditioning, an elevator in the building, and a beautiful view of a tree-lined courtyard. Drea notes that the apartment seems “perfect for one person,” and likes that it feels more open and modern than “The Manhattan.”

Finally, Will gives Drea a tour of “The Bronx,” a one-bedroom unit in the Bronx that rents for $2,400. Drea is immediately impressed by the spacious unit and its huge open-plan living space. She also loves the stainless steel appliances, in-unit washer-dryer, and spacious bedroom. While the apartment is on a lower floor and offers a little less light, Drea seems to feel that its spaciousness makes up for its lack of sunshine.

Three weeks later, Drea reveals that she decided to hold off on her move for the time being. While she was impressed by the apartments, she felt that the time for a move wasn’t quite right. “I had an amazing time shopping with Will,” she says. “He showed me a lot of great options, so whenever I’m ready to move again, we’ll see, who knows where I’ll end up.”
