During the summer, no one wants to be reaching for their hot tools to do their hair. A hot blowout when it’s even hotter outside? No, thanks!

If you like to keep your hair routine to a minimum in the summer, then you’re going to want to add Dae’s latest launch to your Sephora cart.

The two-year-old hair care brand just released its highly anticipated Hibiscus Wave Spray that promises soft, touchable waves — and we couldn’t be more excited.

Dae is all about simple, clean, desert-inspired formulas, so this newest styling product fits right into the brand’s lineup. Described as weightless and hydrating, the Hibiscus Wave Spray can be used on all hair types, wet or dry, to give it immediate texture.

The new wave spray is the brand’s first true floral scent and includes hibiscus flower extract, prickly pear seed oil and moringa leaf extract. And unlike sticky wave sprays of the past, this formula won’t leave your hair crunchy or stiff.

Before the launch, In The Know caught up with founder Amber Fillerup Clark to get the scoop on why this spray stands out from the rest.

According to Clark, “in makeup, we have buildable lightweight makeup and you also have full-coverage options, but we don’t really have that in hair. So you’ll see that a lot with our styling products, and this wave spray is a good example of that, where this is a very buildable wave spray. It doesn’t make your hair crunchy. You don’t have to wash your hair that day – you can brush it out at the end of the day and still have your natural texture.

“Most wave sprays give you that crunchy look and almost change how your hair looks, like the texture of it, where this still looks like your freshly washed hair, but just wavier and more full.”

In terms of best styling practices, Clark describes the spray as very versatile and says it can be used in several different ways depending on your desired result.

“It really gives any style you have more volume and more texture, and then you can scrunch it and add waves. It totally just depends on your hair type and what look you’re going for.”

Clark also shared that you can use the Hibiscus Wave Spray on its own or in tandem with other styling products.

“I do love having the messy look down on the ends [of my hair] and then using our styling cream to smooth my part line. If you’re spraying it on wet hair, you can put in the oil first to give your hair that shine underneath the wave, or put on the leave-in conditioner and then spray the wave spray in and then do a blowout. And that’ll give your blowout more texture and give your hair more grit. A lot of people prefer that with their curtain bangs because then you can really manipulate the bangs after they’re dry.”

Essentially, there’s no wrong way to use this wave spray — it’s foolproof! Starting June 7, shoppers can buy the Hibiscus Wave Spray on Sephora and Dae’s website for $26; Dae is also offering a styling kit on its website that includes the spray, a scarf and flower clips for $32.
