Yahoo Finance Cowboys will face a Washington team missing several of its best players
When the Dallas Cowboys host Washington on Sunday afternoon, they will be trying to end a disappointing season with a .500 record, but also have a chance of winning the NFC East despite their uneven results. If the Philadelphia Eagles lose to the New York Giants, Dallas is in the playoffs. If both teams win or both teams lose, the Eagles win the NFC East.
But Dallas’ path to a win has gotten a bit easier. On Friday, Washington interim head coach Bill Callahan announced that rookie Terry McLaurin, the team’s leading receiver, and safety Landon Collins, who leads the team in tackles, have both been ruled out for Sunday.
McLaurin has a concussion, and Collins a shoulder injury.
Those players join rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who suffered a left ankle injury on the first play of the third quarter last week against the Giants and had already been ruled out. Case Keenum is expected to get the start.
Washington is currently 3-12 but will be looking to end the season with its only division win.
