Consumer confidence at 14-week high: ANZ

A new survey shows consumer confidence is at a three-month high but unemployment data later this week could spoil the party.

The weekly ANZ-Roy Morgan Australian Consumer Confidence index has risen 1.0 per cent, to a 14-week high of 120.8 - in contrast to the typical slide in confidence after the federal budget.

"With confidence currently at its highest point since early February, we now look to the wage and employment reports out later this week, which could set the tone for confidence in the short run," ANZ's head of Australian economics David Plank said in a statement on Tuesday.
