Computer chip ‘allows paralysed man to write on screen using his brain’

A paralysed man’s used his brain to write on a screen at speeds almost as fast as someone bashing out a text on a smartphone thanks to a computer-brain interface.

Stanford University researchers have developed a method of communication that uses a computer to turn mental handwriting into on-screen words via a brain sensor and software interface.

The participant was able to reach a writing speed of about 18 words per minute with more than 94 accuracy.
