Coles shopper's 'revolting' find crawling throughout her chicken

A Coles shopper has claimed she recently discovered maggots crawling through a “quick and easy” dinner she picked up for herself and her children.

The woman shared a gruesome video of maggots crawling throughout the pre-cooked supermarket chicken.

“When you want a quick, easy dinner for your kids on a Friday night and your hot chicken is FULL of maggots,” she posted on Coles’ Facebook page.

The customer said she had to buy pizzas after the “revolting” discovery and “try to not be sick”.

In the video, maggots are seen crawling on a plate next to pieces of chicken. On a seperate plate, someone is seen pulling a maggot from a piece of meat.

Coles responded to the woman’s video, thanking her for getting in touch.

“We're sorry for your unpleasant discovery in one of our Hot Roast Chickens as we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and we continuously monitor these standards,” the spokesperson said.

The supermarket then asked the woman to send through details via a private message so Coles could follow up the matter.

Yahoo News Australia has contacted Coles for comment.
