Cigna’s big vote, fire at Tesla, Waymo’s China plans

Here’s a look at some of the companies the Yahoo Finance team will be watching for you today.

Cigna shareholders are getting their say, over the company’s merger with Express Scripts. A proxy vote today will decide whether the $54B deal will go ahead. Last week billionaire Carl Icahn dropped his opposition to the merger.

Elon Musk says there was no damage or injuries after a fire last night at the Tesla factory in Fremont, California. The flames broke out near a tent at the plant. But not the tent where some vehicles are being manufactured. Musk says cardboard being stacked for recycling is what caught fire.

Google’s Waymo is gearing up to go to China. The self-driving car division has registered a new subsidiary in Shanghai. It’s officially a consulting firm and lists logistics and parts as potential lines of business. Google has been trying to find new ways back into China, since it pulled most services back in 2010 over censorship rules.

Japan is enlisting Boeing’s help to soar into the future. The aerospace company, alongside Uber, Airbus, and others are teaming up to create a flying car. Members from the companies will meet next week to discuss plans. Japan’s government hopes to have flying cars in the next decade.
