Coles is looking for three main roles coming into the Christmas season.
While the supermarket giant hires all year round, a spokesperson told Yahoo Finance they would be focusing their recruitment on regional and remote areas.
The three roles it is looking to bolster for Christmas are qualified bakers, CSA (delivery drivers) and retail leadership roles.

Santa: As many as possible
Shopping centre Santas are in high demand this year, with talent agency Scene to Believe experiencing widespread Saint Nick shortages.
The company is looking for as many job applicants as possible, but Santas in Sydney and the Northern Beaches are high on its wish list.
“Posing for a photo with Santa is an annual tradition for families everywhere. We have a plethora of fantastic roles available across the country for everyone, from grandparents to retirees and everyone in between," managing director Stefan Hutton said.
“We’re particularly short in the Santa department, so we’re calling on older Australians to throw their Santa’s hat in the ring and apply.”
The casual role comes with "competitive rates". Aussies can apply through the Scene to Believe Website or by calling the Santa hotline on (02) 9054 2636.
Australia Post: 3,000 jobs
The delivery giant is looking to fill around 3,000 Christmas casual jobs throughout Australia, with the highest demand in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
Applicants with a valid forklift or truck licence are at the top of Australia Post’s wish list, with seasonal casual roles also available for freight handlers and parcel processors.
The casual roles have an adult pay rate starting from $31.85 per hour. Aussies can apply through Australia Post’s website, or careers website.
Executive general manager people and culture Susan Davies said Christmas casuals were critical in helping ensure Australia Post deliveries reached customers in time.
“As we approach our busiest time of year, we’re looking to bolster our workforce to ensure we can meet increased demand and maintain the high level of service Australians expect from Australia Post,” Davies said.
“Working in a seasonal casual role can also create opportunities to work with Australia Post beyond the end of the year.”
Amazon: 1,000 jobs
Amazon is also looking for 1,000 Aussie workers to help pick, pack and ship the influx of customer orders at fulfilment centres and logistics sites across the country.
Applications for the summer jobs are now open in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Newcastle and the Gold Coast, with no prior experience required.
Amazon Australia director of HR Jacqui Marker said the company would provide on-the-job training to successful candidates.
“Our seasonal roles are great for those who want something shorter term, like students on their summer break, retirees looking to stay active, or someone who may have had time off and is wanting to get back into the workforce to earn some extra money,” Marker said.
Pay for fulfilment-centre workers starts at $30.80 an hour, while logistics-site workers start at $30.99 an hour, plus penalties for working night, early-morning or weekend shifts.
Aussies can apply for a Christmas job with Amazon through the company’s website.
