Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi was arrested for suspicion of rape early Sunday, according to ESPN.

Hudson-Odoi, 19, was arrested after police were called to his home by a woman who said she had been raped. Police initially responded to a report that a woman was unwell. They arrived at Hudson-Odoi’s home at 3:35 a.m.

A police spokesman told ESPN Hudson-Odoi posted bail and will return to police again in June.

“When emergency services attended, a woman reported that she was raped. She was taken to hospital. A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of rape. He was released from custody and bailed to return on a date in mid-June,” the spokesman said.

Police interviewed Hudson-Odoi both Sunday and Monday.

In March, Hudson-Odoi became one of the first Premier League players to test positive for coronavirus. The Premier League shut down just hours after Hudson-Odoi’s positive test.

Chelsea has yet to comment on Hudson-Odoi’s arrest.
