CHART: Here’s how Aussies feel about negative gearing

Gearing up to the federal election, there are a number of issues hot in Australians’ tongues.

After healthcare, cost of living is the second-biggest issue for Aussies, with the economy, unemployment and housing also among the top 10.

Negative gearing in particular has been a controversial issue, with Labor pledging to limit negative gearing and halve the capital gains tax from 2020.

But according to ABC’s Vote Compass, it appears Labor voters and Greens voters are generally in favour of there being fewer tax breaks for investment properties.

Coalition and One Nation voters, however, seem split about this.
