Charlie Woods shows Tiger how it's done by hitting shot of the day at PNC Championship

Through three holes, Charlie Woods looked like he would carry his Hall of Fame dad through the PNC Championship. Charlie showed Tiger Woods how it’s done on the third hole Saturday, hitting a fantastic shot to set up an eagle.

Charlie hit the ball roughly 170 yards around some trees to bring it just a few feet away from the hole. Tiger couldn’t help but be impressed, calling it an “awesome shot.”

Charlie, 11, finished off the hole on the next shot, giving the Woods’ an eagle. The shot pushed the team to -3 through 3 holes.

"I've seen this," Tiger said of the eagle, via ESPN. "A lot of the shots he's hit. I've seen it this entire year, this entire pandemic. He hit these shots. The few events he's played in, he's hit a lot of these shots. But this is a totally different deal."

It wasn’t Charlie’s only highlight of the day. Turns out, Tiger’s son has plenty of skills on a golf course.

Charlie and Tiger kept up that success Saturday, finishing -10 on the day. That tied them for sixth. Matt Kuchar and his 12-year-old son Cameron lead the way at the event with a -14.

“[Charlie] hit some of the most incredible golf shots,” Tiger said, via ESPN. “He had the best time. It couldn't have been a better environment."

First time Charlie and Tiger Woods have competed together

The PNC Championship marks the first time the Woods’ have played together. The event — which started in 1995 — features pro golfers playing with family members. Charlie and Tiger Woods have been the talk of the event thus far, mostly because the two have identical swings. They apparently also love to talk trash.

Charlie showed off a little bit of that Saturday.

The PNC Championship began Saturday, and will run through Sunday. The event features 20 teams of two players. The winners will take home a $200,000 prize.

Team Woods played well Saturday, but will need to step up their game to take home the top prize Sunday.
