Charles Marino, Katherine Kuhlman Raise Alarm Over Government’s Opening of Southwest Border While Underfunding Customs, Immigration Enforcement

·2-min read

NEW YORK, August 04, 2021--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Charles Marino, CEO of Sentinel Security Solutions and a nationally recognized security expert, and Dr. Katherine Kuhlman, a board-certified police and public safety psychologist, have identified several risks to U.S. security resulting from the Biden administration’s opening of the Southwest border to mass migration while leaving funding flat for Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) and for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Writing in the Hill, they identify several actions resulting in increased risk for Americans. The first is the administration’s decision to remove the "Remain in Mexico" program and reinstitute "catch-and-release" of migrants before having a comprehensive strategy in place. The second is the enabling of a human trafficking operation run by Mexican cartels, in which migrant families are extorted for large sums of money, sexually or physically assaulted, endangered by the elements and distance of travel, and in some cases left for dead. A third is that the Customs and Border Patrol is overwhelmed by sheer numbers of migrants and stressed facilities. These and other factors contribute to the likelihood that illegal migrants, drugs, weapons and continued human trafficking could well spread to major U.S. cities.

As a nationally known strategic security advisor, opinion leader, and writer, Charles Marino has deep knowledge of security methodologies, tactics, and technology. A regular national security and law enforcement analyst for leading television news programs, including FOX News and NEWSMAX, he is frequently called upon to comment on world events from his perspective as a security expert. As an Opinion Contributor to The Hill, he brings his experience to thoughtful analyses of key national security issues.

Dr. Katherine Kuhlman is a board-certified police and public safety psychologist, and owner of Kuhlman Psychology & Consulting. She is a national speaker on issues related to first responder mental health, wellness and trauma. Dr. Kuhlman consults with public safety agencies across the nation and regularly appears in national media including CBS News, FOX Business, Law & Crime to provide commentary on mental health and law enforcement matters.
