Yahoo Finance Charles Barkley uses NSYNC to insult Draymond Green, calls him 'least famous person in the boy band'
Charles Barkley and Draymond Green have been trading barbs in the media lately, but Barkley just made things serious.
On the Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday, Barkley responded to Green by calling him “the least famous person in the boy band,” implying that Green’s position on the Golden State Warriors is similar to NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick and the Backstreet Boys’ Howie Dorough. The horror!
No love lost between Barkley and Green
This is the latest episode in the ongoing Barkley and Green Hate Each Other soap opera. Barkley and Green have a history of animosity towards each other (in 2018 Barkley said that he wanted to “punch [Green’s] ass in the face”), and most recently Barkley has been mocking Green’s production by calling out his “triple-singles”.

Not surprisingly, Green hated that. On Friday he responded by saying that he could take Barkley’s TNT job “soon,” and that Barkley “can't talk basketball with me. Not smart enough, not qualified, no rings — can't sit at this table."

Barkley uses NSYNC to insult Green
It was Barkley’s turn to respond to Green, and he did it twice. First he spoke to TMZ Sports and essentially called Green ugly.
"I think he's a good player and a great guy. I like messing with him but he's got the perfect face for radio... He don't have a TV face. He don't have a TV face. He could do the job but he don't have a face for TV. He's got a face for radio."
Barkley then went on the Dan Patrick Show and went in on Green even more, whipping out an NSYNC reference that will thrill every 1990s boy band fan.
"He's the least famous person in the boy band, and he thinks he's a star. And he's not. He's lucky to be in the boy band. He thinks all the girls are screaming for him. No, they're screaming for Justin Timberlake.”

"My job is safe. Draymond Green is a nice guy. You know what he is? He's like the guy in the boy band who's the least important member," the Hall of Famer said. "He doesn't realize he's standing next to Justin Timberlake.
"He's the least famous person in the boy band, and he thinks he's a star. And he's not. He's lucky to be in the boy band. He thinks all the girls are screaming for him. No, they're screaming for Justin Timberlake.
"Enjoy being in the band because you're never gonna have any hit singles ... I like messing with him."
Ouch. Barkley’s not messing around.
It seems slightly unfair to compare Green and his career to Chris Kirkpatrick of NSYNC, or Howie Dorough of the Backstreet Boys, or that guy with the goatee from 98 Degrees who was not related to either of the Lachey brothers. Green may not be a Justin Timberlake, but isn’t he at least a JC Chasez, who released a cringe-inducing single that people paid attention to for maybe a week back in 2003? Or a Nick Carter, who tried and failed at a solo career before rejoining the Backstreet Boys?
We’ll have to wait for Green to respond to Barkley’s latest salvo to find out which 90s boy band member he thinks he is. My money’s on AJ McLean.
