Channel 9 football commentator Craig Hutchison and former Australian NBA star Andrew Bogut have engaged in a somewhat bitter back and forth, in which the latter made several jokes about Hutchison’s weight.

Bogut felt compelled to weigh in on Twitter after a radio segment on SEN, which is part of Hutchison’s Crocmedia business, in which the longtime football commentator and part-owner of the NBL’s Melbourne United suggested the former Golden State Warriors champion was being overpaid by the Sydney Kings.

Hutchison said there was ‘no more bread to break’ after their pair’s already frosty relationship was brought up by co-host Liam Pickering, who suggested the media mogul ought to chase Bogut’s signature for United.

“There comes a time in your life Picks when there’s no more bread,” Hutchison said.

“I can’t break any more bread with any more people.

“I have no idea, no idea (why Bogut dislikes him). I’ve never had an interaction with him in person or on the phone that was a bad one but he just does not like me, Picks. It’s his prerogative.

“He’s his own man.”

While it seemed like a relatively benign exchange, Hutchison’s later joke about Bogut’s contract prompted the 35-year-old to jump on Twitter and fire back.

Andrew Bogut’s potshots at Craig Hutchison

Bogut suggested on Twitter that Hutchison’s management of his media business would go as well as his stint as host of the Footy Show, which ended when he was replaced by Eddie McGuire in 2017.

The former Milwaukee Bucks and Warriors star also took several shots at Hutchison’s figure.

“Mr @craighutchy! Worry about your failing radio station ratings that are burning cash. Looks like @1116sen will follow The Footy Show under your lead,” Bogut tweeted.

“I know VIC is in lockdown and you couldn’t grab your box or 10 of Krispy Kremes for brekky, but keep my name out of your mouth.”

Bogut’s tweet attracted some criticism, with some criticising him for ‘fat shaming’ Hutchison.

The 2015 NBA champion didn’t have it all his way though, as former Port Adelaide star Kane Cornes chimed in to defend Hutchison.

Cornes said Bogut was the first to dish out insults online, but was never able to take criticism back.

“You always complain about twitter outrage yet react to a tounge (sic) in cheek ‘joke’ like this,” he replied to Bogut.

The Sydney Kings star still wasn’t having it, suggesting Cornes should ‘sit this one out’ because he worked for SEN.
