2. Blonde

Rated NC-17, this controversial adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’ novel tells a fictionalized version of Marilyn Monroe’s life starring Ana de Armas as the blonde star. The film received a 14-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival. The film debuts on Netflix on Sept. 28.

3. Father of the Bride

The third film based on the 1949 book stars Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan. This time, it focuses on a Cuban-American family with Garcia as the disapproving father meddling with his daughter’s love life. Stream on HBO Max.

4. Coco

The Disney/Pixar animated film explores the Mexican Day of the Dead. It tells the story of 12-year-old Miguel, who is transported to the land of the dead to uncover a mystery surrounding his ancestor. Stream on Disney+.
