Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ) Beats Q1 Earnings and Revenue Estimates

Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ) came out with quarterly earnings of $1.25 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.20 per share. This compares to earnings of $2.26 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of 4.17%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this oil and natural gas company would post earnings of $1.61 per share when it actually produced earnings of $1.44, delivering a surprise of -10.56%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times.

Canadian Natural Resources , which belongs to the Zacks Oil and Gas - Exploration and Production - Canadian industry, posted revenues of $6.38 billion for the quarter ended March 2023, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 1.92%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $8.43 billion. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates four times over the last four quarters.
