Bus operator fined for ongoing delays

The operator of Adelaide's north-south bus services has been fined $45,000 for still having late buses.

South Australia's Transport Services Minister Chloe Fox said Transfield's performance had improved but not sufficiently.

"I should make it very clear that there has been an improvement by Transfield in that area however it is not at the same level I'd expect," she said.

The minister said other bus operators had met benchmarks and new priority lanes in the city had helped improve on-time running by up to 12 per cent.
